Tyler worked for a local gravel crushing company.On December 19, 1997, while doing a basic walk around maintenance check of the running equipment, a large piece of frozen gravel and dirt came down from the top of the crusher, striking Tyler on the back of the head and causing him to die instantly of a massive brain hemorrhage. Tyler was a fun loving, hard working, eager to learn young man.

In Canada, workplace fatalities claim roughly 1,000 lives every year. Thousands more suffer from serious injuries and illnesses. And every one of those deaths, injuries and illnesses has a devastating effect on family members, friends and co-workers.
