On March 14, 1994, Lorna was doing maintenance work in water in a wave pool area that was not visible to anyone. After entering the water, she was caught against a pump suction pipe intake inlet. She could not release herself and drowned. Lorna was not discovered until some time later.

In Canada, workplace fatalities claim roughly 1,000 lives every year. Thousands more suffer from serious injuries and illnesses. And every one of those deaths, injuries and illnesses has a devastating effect on family members, friends and co-workers.
