Jamie was killed on the job on February 9, 2000 after entering the hold of a barge. It was an airtight confined space that had no oxygen. Jamie was a very kind and generous person. His family was very important to him. Jamie liked to play sports, especially baseball and bowling. He also liked to go fishing. He is dearly missed by his family and friends.

In Canada, workplace fatalities claim roughly 1,000 lives every year. Thousands more suffer from serious injuries and illnesses. And every one of those deaths, injuries and illnesses has a devastating effect on family members, friends and co-workers.
