David Fairbairn - 24

David died in a logging accident on June 13, 1996 caused by faulty equipment that had not been properly maintained. David was a loyal son, brother and friend. His passions included hunting, fishing and everything related to the outdoors. Other hobbies included pool, cards and darts. He loved music and played the electric guitar. David’s generous, loving spirit lives on in all who had the honour of knowing him.

In Canada, workplace fatalities claim roughly 1,000 lives every year. Thousands more suffer from serious injuries and illnesses. And every one of those deaths, injuries and illnesses has a devastating effect on family members, friends and co-workers. Through the LifeQuilt, families honoured 100 young workers killed in Canadian workplaces, as well as injured workers, by telling their stories.
