Brian was employed as a summer student for the second year with an oil and gas company. On July 21, 2000, he was killed because a truck driver failed to yield the right of way. Brian was enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce program at Mount Royal College in Calgary. He loved life to the fullest and impacted all who met him.

In Canada, workplace fatalities claim roughly 1,000 lives every year. Thousands more suffer from serious injuries and illnesses. And every one of those deaths, injuries and illnesses has a devastating effect on family members, friends and co-workers.
